ABOUT US

Hello 👋🏾 , I’m Dr. Brittany Freeman-Anderson. I’ve dedicated my life to understanding and teaching about grief, both from personal and professional perspectives.

My Story

My journey into the world of grief counseling began with personal loss. Losing my father in 2017, my mother in 2018, and my late husband in 2019 transformed my understanding of grief. These experiences led me to found The Grief Couch, where I could extend my support to others facing similar losses. As a licensed professional counselor with a specialization in family grief and loss, I have spent years studying and working with individuals who are navigating the complexities of bereavement. My academic path includes a Doctorate in Psychology with a focus on Behavioral Health Leadership, which enriches my approach to both individual counseling and organizational consultancy.

My approach combines professional knowledge with personal insight, making each conversation and session a unique place for healing.

I am driven by the desire to make grief a topic we can all talk about openly and without fear. In my work, I aim to create spaces where individuals and organizations can learn to not only manage grief but to grow from it, fostering environments of support and resilience.

Transforming Grief

My Mission and Vision

My mission is to demystify the process of grief, transforming it from a solitary struggle into a shared journey of understanding and healing. I aim to provide a supportive space where individuals can openly discuss and navigate their grief, using both my professional expertise and personal experiences to guide them. The vision that drives my work is a world where grief is acknowledged as a normal, integral part of human life, and those experiencing it receive the compassion, support, and resources they need to heal.
